MedNet Resources (MedNet) was founded by Sharon D. Spence in 1996 in New York State. A radiologic technologist by profession, Sharon initially did billing for her husband, Calvin J. Spence, M.D. (a radiologist) whilst at Westfield Memorial Hospital (WMH) in 1989. Under the guidance of the Director of the Billing Department at WMH, Jim Kelly, and his highly skilled staff Sharon gained valuable knowledge and experience in the field of Medical Billing. Not long after that a second radiologist approached Sharon for assistance. Seeing a specific need in the market Sharon formed the company, MedNet Resources, to assist radiologists, specifically, with their billing needs.

In 1998, we moved our premises to Erie, PA, where there are several trade schools specializing in medical coding and billing. These trade schools offer a rich supply of highly skilled billing and coding professionals, several of whom we have been fortunate enough to attract and retain over the years. MedNet is a family-owned and operated business and view all of our employees as part of this family. Fortunately for us many of these highly skilled graduates are still with us which, in turn, creates consistency for our clients.

As a forerunner in the industry, we were one of the first radiology billing companies to have a comprehensive website (radiologybilling.com) in order to make our services more readily accessible to clients, both current and potential. Over the years MedNet has continued to grow and we now have offices in Pennsylvania (head office), North Dakota and Texas.

MedNet has successfully implemented radiology billing operational systems to the benefit of many hospital-based radiologists as well as to imaging centers.

With the recent addition of new family members who bring their expertize to the company, MedNet now has an in-house IT specialist and a National Sales Manager.
